Yoga & Meditation Retreat:
'Grounding and Connection'
Change is a constant, stand firm in the present moment and reconnect with the stillness within.
MOUNTAIN AIR ~ PEACE ~ MEDITATION ~ YOGA ~ MANTRA
Within you, there is an innate sense of calm and tranquility that is always present, yet the pressures of everyday life pull us away from this inner peace. Join me on a journey inward as we retreat from the outer world and reconnect with our calm center. Experience the beauty of Spring in the inland Pacific Northwest on a private 150-acre ranch that is adjacent to the Coeur d'Alene National Forest.
BODY
Each day we will practice thoughtfully designed Yoga sequences that are focused on relieving tension in the hips and neck, strengthening core muscles, moving the spine and and improving postural alignment and balance. Our days will begin with a 2.5 hr combination of Yoga practices and workshops. Classes will include mindful breathing, Yoga asana (postures), and workshops or discussions aimed at helping you identify and overcome common challenges in your practice. Appropriate for all levels of practice. Props such as blocks, chairs, blankets, straps and meditation stools will be available.
BREATH
Breath is the bridge between the mind and body. In Yoga this bridge is called 'pranayama'. On the path toward meditation, it is essential first learn to observe and regulate the breath. Throughout the retreat, you will learn mindful breathing techniques that foster mental stability, enhance focus, and reduce stress. Each Yoga session will start and end with breathing practices.
MIND
In the process of developing mindful breath awareness, and breath control, the student begins to practice 'pratyahara' - the shifting of awareness from the external world to the internal world. This is an important stage as you improve yoiur concentration and develop a meditation practiceDaily meditation practices and discussions, tailored for both new and experienced meditators, will equip you with practical skills for everyday life.
