  • Origins

Bhakti yoga has ancient roots, with mentions in the Vedas and the Shvetashvatara Upanishad

  • Devotion

Bhakti yoga is a path of total dedication and surrender. It's a way to transform negative emotions into pleasant ones.

  • Deity

Bhakti yoga practitioners can devote themselves to a personal deity, such as Krishna, Radha, Rama, Sita, Vishnu, Shiva, Shakti, Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ganesha, Parvati, Durga, or Surya. However, some modern teachers explain Bhakti yoga more broadly as seeking unconditional love for everyone and everything.
