The asanas are the postures we practice every time we come to the mat. Asana done properly can have a profound effect on our mind and body. Join me in this peaceful setting as we delve into the most important details of Yoga asana in order for you to get the most out of your practice time on the mat. You will learn practical tips and advice that will increase your confidence in Yoga asana. With a maximum of eight participants, there will be time for individual attention and help with what each student needs.

Four workshops where we will dive deeper into the aspects of asana practices, one extended practice to start the retreat, and two evening Yoga Nidra & sound meditation sessions. All levels of practice will be considered in planning. Hand-outs provided in each workshop. Props such as blocks, chairs, blankets and straps will be available for use and will incorporated in each practice session. See 'Schedule' below for workshop topics.

This magnificent property is on a 150 acre ranch located 15 minutes east of Coeur d' Alene in Northern Idaho. The 4000 sf house is a spacious, comfortable home built with love by the owners. The heart of the home is the original 1908 homestead cabin, whose original deed was signed by President Theodore Roosevelt.

The unique setting of this home is at the confluence of two streams and surrounded by pristine natural beauty to stir your heart. Like a painting come to life with romantic rock bridges, quaint stone steps and walls, lush pastures, fruit trees, flowers and two jade-green ponds filled with trout that guests are encouraged to feed with food provided. This enchanting home is surrounded on three sides by 2.5 million acres of U.S. Forest land extending into Montana and Canada. The property has been maintained as a wildlife preserve with deer, elk, moose, bear, wolves, bald eagles and wild turkeys visiting the ranch.  There are no visible neighbors.

Travel expenses are not included in registration costs.

The nearest major airport is in Spokane, Washington; it is a 45 minute drive to Coeur d' Alene from the Spokane airport.

The Missoula, Montana airport is a 2.5 hour drive to Coeur d' Alene. Ride sharing may be able to be arranged with other participants.

Each participant will receive a map with detailed driving instructions before the retreat.

Six bedrooms are dispersed throughout the ground and the second floors with comfortable beds, plenty of space and privacy. Each of the three rooms on the second floor has it's own private stair case leading to the room The two large, main-floor bathrooms are located at the front and rear of the home. A well stocked laundry room is available for use. Bathrooms have hairdryers.

Wifi is available in the main areas of the house, but cell phone signals are 'spotty' at best. There is a land line for local (208) calls and emergencies. What'sapp works well for phone calls outside of the local area code.

Wholesome, vegetarian/vegan meals will be prepared for you. All meals will be with fresh, local and organic ingredients when possible. Guests' special dietary needs can be accommodated (gluten free, vegan, allergies). The cook for this retreat is Shelby Dobbins.
