Hit the pause button on your life and recharge your mind and body for four days and three nights in the healing, mountain setting of Northern, Idaho.
Your journey into relaxation will be aided by rejuvenating, morning Hatha Yoga sessions, luxurious evening Restorative Yoga, wholesome vegetarian meals prepared for you, guided meditations, an abundance of fresh air, clean water and beautiful views! Massages are available at the ranch by a local licensed massage therapist.
This magnificent 4,000 SF home sits on a 150 acre ranch about 15 minutes East of Coeur d' Alene in Northern Idaho. It has six bedrooms and 3.5 large bathrooms. The unique setting of this home is at the confluence of two streams and surrounded by pristine natural beauty to stir your heart. Like a painting come to life with romantic rock bridges, quaint stone steps and walls, lush pastures, fruit trees, flowers and two jade-green pond's filled with trout that guests are encouraged to feed with food provided. This enchanting home is surrounded on three sides by 2.5 million acres of U.S. Forest land extending into Montana and Canada. The property has been maintained as a wildlife preserve with deer, elk, moose, bear, wolves, bald eagles, wild turkeys and ermine on or visiting the ranch. There are no visible neighbors; this is a place of serenity, peace and complete quiet except for nature.
The nearest airport is about 45-50 minutes away in Spokane, Washington. You can rent a car and explore the quaint town of Coeur d'Alene on your way to the retreat or during the afternoon free time after Yoga. Downtown Coeur d' Alene is next to along Lake Coeur d' Alene and is about 15 minutes from Elk Mountain Ranch. The Missoula, Montana airport is another option for fly into. It is a beautiful two hour drive to Elk Mountain Ranch from Missoula.
Arrive at the ranch anytime after 1:00 PM Friday, Oct. 11th. Relax, enjoy the scenery and explore the property before a stress relieving, hip opening Yoga session from 4:30-6:30 PM. You will be treated to a welcome dinner at 6:30 PM followed by a soothing restorative session before retiring.
Bedrooms are dispersed on both the ground and the second floor with comfortable beds, plenty of space and privacy. Each room has the ability to control the heating temperature individually. The bathrooms are large and located at the front and rear of the home. There is a laundry room for guest use, hairdryers in the bathrooms and wifi throughout the house. Cell phone signals are 'spotty' at best, there is a landline at the house for local calls only. Maximum number of participants will be 7-10 depending on double or single occupancy.
Sattvic* breakfast and dinners will be provided and prepared for you. Light snacks (fruit, bread & homemade soups) will be available for lunch. All meals, prepared by a cook in house, will be vegetarian with fresh, local and organic ingredients when possible. Breakfast will be self serve on Saturday and Sunday. Monday, breakfast will be prepared for you. Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Coffee and tea will be available all day. Guest's dietary needs will be considered in food preparation, please list any food allergies or diet restrictions in the registration form below.

EACH FULL DAY of the retreat will consist of fire side, indoor, yoga classes from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. The longer, morning session will be held after a self serve light breakfast and will begin with discussion and meditation followed by and hatha Yoga practices (breathing exercises and postures). Evenings will include a 60 minute restorative/guided meditation yoga session from 8:30-9:30 PM.
All yoga sessions will be appropriate for the participants level of ability and needs. It is encouraged for participants to bring their own mat, if you choose not to travel with your mat please let me know and a mat will be provided for you. All other props will be available for you (blankets, blocks, straps, chairs, sandbags).
The day of arrival will consist of one yoga session from 4:30-6:30 PM to release the hips and neck after a day of traveling. Yoga will be followed by a welcome dinner at 6:30 PM.
There is an abundance of hiking and biking trails in the area with stunning scenery to enjoy, or you can stay at the ranch and enjoy the peace and quiet. Downtown Coeur d' Alene is about 15 minutes from the ranch and is a lovely place to explore and shop. Saturday and Sunday afternoons are left open to relax and explore as you choose. You will receive a welcome packet with trails, maps and town information upon arrival to help pan your free time. Optional guided meditations are planned before dinner for those who would like to join.
Double occupancy rooms listed below must be booked with your guest, you will not share a room with another participant that you do not know. See rates and registration below. Registration details are below. Note: Double occupancy rooms must be booked with a family member, spouse or friend that you are comfortable sharing a bed with (only the Bear's Den room has separate beds).
Individual needs will be considered when planning final menu. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions or preferences.
Light Breakfast on Saturday & Sunday:
Fruit, Toast, Yogurt (coconut, soy or cow's milk), Coffee, Tea (easily digestible foods before Yoga)
This meal will include a hot, vegetarian main dish, two sides, breads, green
Homemade Vegetarian Soups, Wholesome Breads, Large Green Salad, Desserts
Final Brunch on Sunday:
Scrambled Eggs, Steel Cut Oatmeal, Cooked Cinnamon Apples, Fruit, Toast
Garlic and onions will not be used in any of the cooking as these items increase rajasic energy.
